As the Panicle Hydrangeas (H. paniculata) are in bloom, now is the best time to choose your favorites. The ‘Quick Fire’ seen here are already turning bright pink and is a real favorite along with the ‘Vanilla Strawberry’. Need a dwarf variety? ‘Bobo’ has been a big seller this year mainly because it’s a smaller grower (3′ high x 3-4′ wide) making it perfect for the middle of the shrub border and a nice addition to the perennial garden. Other dwarf varieties include ‘Bomb Shell’, ‘Little Quickfire’ and, ‘Little Lime’. For the next size up ‘Summer Sweet’ is a medium grower that tops out at 4-5′ high. If you are a fan of the traditional PeeGee (‘Grandiflora’) we have some beautiful full plants in 3 gallon containers. We offer over 15 varieties of Panicle Hydrangeas in shrub and tree form. They are super easy to grow and since they bloom on new wood, trimming them as late as early March will not affect their beautiful reliable summer show!
