Meadow Rue is an interesting perennial, great for bridging the season from spring into summer. There are many forms and we’re happy to offer two of them:

Thalictrum rochebrunianum
Delicate, blue-green foliage and 6-8′ strong, purple stems with airy lavender flower clusters. Even though it’s this tall there’s no need for staking.

T. aquilegifolium (Columbine Meadow Rue) is a shorter grower getting about 3′ high and it has a fuzzier flower as seen here. A nice addition to both the perennial border and woodland garden.

Meadow Rue likes dappled shade and moist soil. Either will add some color to a shady site alongside Astilbe, Hosta, Lamium etc.
